Cannabis, Creativity, and the Stigma We're Done Carrying

People sometimes ask why a music station talks about medicinal cannabis at all. The honest answer: because both subjects get stereotyped by people who've never actually sat down and listened to the people living it.

Independent musicians and cannabis patients have more in common than it looks like on the surface — both groups spend a lot of energy being underestimated. Both get talked about in generalizations instead of specifics. And both, frankly, deserve a platform that treats them like adults capable of making informed decisions about their own lives and work.

What "informed dialogue" actually means to us

It doesn't mean promotion. It doesn't mean medical advice — we're not doctors, and we don't play them on air. What it means is refusing to treat the topic like a punchline or a taboo. We bring on people doing real work in cannabinoid research, patient advocacy, and policy reform, and we let them talk about what they actually do.

If you're looking for real information — not station chatter — we keep an updated directory of educational organizations and nonprofits doing that work. Start there, and talk to a qualified physician about anything specific to your own care.

Where the culture actually overlaps

A lot of the artists we feature write and produce with cannabis as part of their creative process — same as musicians have used coffee, or long drives, or 2am silence for decades. We're not here to make a statement about that. We're here to make sure the conversation around it is honest instead of hushed.
